Kicking It Into Gear

Welcome to our inaugural Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca blog.

Over the coming months, we will be providing expert commentary from some of the most recognizable names in motorsports, as well as hearing from some of our own resident experts.

Topics such as the state of motorcycle racing in the U.S., previews to our major events, and how to drive the track like a pro are among the many ones we are working on.

But, your voice is important and we want to hear from you. What do you want to read here and from whom? We’re here to educate and entertain so fire away with suggestions and we’ll see what we can do to accommodate everyone’s interests.

Keep your revs up and the road ahead clear.

Moto GP

Its a shame with so many bikers in CA we don't have Moto GP race here in CA. Ok Laguna Seca don't have the money, then find another track in CA to host Moto GP? Bring them to LA!

Laguna Seca ticket prices

Formula One, NASCAR, and other motorsports have gotten too rich for their own good, and now they are paying the consequences. We are all aware of the tough financial climate that we currently live in. Times are hard world wide, including the world of motorsports. You only have to look at the empty stands at the German Grand Prix recently to see the effect. It’s much the same the whole world over. Look at the empty seats in NASCAR these days. Not that long ago, that would have been unheard of. The obvious answer is the cost of tickets. It’s no surprise at all that motorcycling, with its cheaper tickets is better attended. For example, at Silverstone for the British Formula One Grand Prix, you would be paying in excess of £100 or $170 US. I reguarly attend the British Touring Car Championship for a bargain £30 or $51 US. I don’t have all the answers, but I do know that the economy has bit race teams who are struggling to secure sponsorship. from motorsports.com

Motocross track

What would it take to reopen the motocross track that was cut into the grounds years ago but rarely used and no longer open? Would be an awesome venue for vintage motocross racing and the location is perfect.
