Joe Satriani to Perform National Anthem at Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix
Grammy-Nominated Artist to Kick Off MotoGP™ Race

Race fans attending this year’s Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will be treated to a rockin’ national anthem.

Guitar legend and multi-platinum selling artist Joe Satriani is set to serenade the grid this year as he performs the Star-Spangled Banner at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix on Sunday, July 21. Satriani will perform from the track just prior to the three-day event’s premier contest, the MotoGP™ World Championship race.

Satriani has been a powerful presence in music for nearly three decades. Inspired by Jimi Hendrix, he has garnered 15 Grammy nominations and sold over 10 million albums worldwide.

Fresh off the release of his 14th studio album Unstoppable Momentum, Satriani will embark on a cross-country tour to support the new album on August 29 in San Diego, Calif. He will be joined by band members: Mike Keneally (keyboards), Bryan Beller (bass), and Marco Minnemann (drums). For more information on Satriani please visit www.satriani.com.

A demanding, 18-race series, MotoGP™ travels to 15 different countries, with the top motorcycle talents competing on the sport’s best race tracks. With just three races before these riders attack Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s grueling, 11-turn circuit, Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa leads the pack with two victories and four podium appearances this season. This is the ninth consecutive year Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will welcome MotoGP™ stars such as Pedrosa, Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Cal Crutchlow and rookie Marc Marquez to California’s Central Coast for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix.

In addition to its action-packed race schedule, the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix offers a variety of off-track entertainment for guests at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Exhilarating fan activities, such as a question and answer period with Yamaha MotoGP™ Riders, autograph sessions, musical performances and countless others, are scheduled throughout the weekend.
