Action-Packed Weekend at American Le Mans Monterey Presented by Patron
Cycle and Chat with Race Car Drivers and Get Your Hot Rod on Track

The American Le Mans Series’ first six-hour race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will feature the most race cars for a Series event at the famed Monterey, Calif., venue in a decade. In addition to the nine races for the weekend, there is plenty of action to enjoy off track as well

The Fan Pre-Grid walk is a rare opportunity not to be missed. Fans are encouraged to walk the starting grid from 1:55 – 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 22 packed with all the American Le Mans Series drivers and 36 race cars just minutes before the green flag flies for the start of the American Le Mans Series presented by Patrón six hour race.

The race car drivers will first be on track Wednesday with bicycles to kick-off the race weekend. The Twilight Ride will take place on May 19 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on the world-renowned circuit and fans are invited to join the drivers for a ride around the 2.23-mile track.

Throughout the weekend race teams are inviting fans to their team transporters for  detailed and entertaining talks about their high-performance cars. Drayson Racing will host the first Tech Talk Friday, May 21 from 12:30 p.m. and Risi Competizione will host the Saturday Tech Talk at 12:30 p.m. The drivers from Team Falken Tire are inviting the fans to come by the transporters on Friday, May 21 at 12:00 p.m. to hear the team chat about their racing and the race cars.  BMW Rahal Letterman Racing will host a Team  Chat on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The official Fan Party is at the C Restaurant and Bar and fans are invited to come out and meet the drivers racing in the American Le Mans Series Monterey presented by Patrón. Fans will enjoy food and beverage specials along with prize giveaways at the InterContinental The Clement Monterey, Cannery Row on Friday, May 21 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Fans will get the chance to meet and receive autographs from over 100 drivers racing in the American Le Mans Series Monterey presented by Patrón. The autograph session will be in front of the team transporters in the paddock on May 22 from 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. In addition, the drivers from the Playboy Mazda MX-5 championship, the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear, the Cooper Tires Prototype Lites and the Patron GT3 Challenge will be signing autographs at set times throughout the weekend.

There will be kids crafts and activities in the Yamaha Marketplace from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.  On Saturday and 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. The younger race fans can enjoy painting, designing patterns, making magnet sculptures, creating a car and building a house.
The second annual Race ‘N’ Rod Nationals will be held during the American Le Mans Series Monterey presented by Patron weekend on May 23. The $35 entry fee includes two Sunday general admission tickets, a T-shirt and on-track parade lap. There will be over a dozen awards for the entrants.

There will be a blood drive on Saturday, May 22 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System. Fans who donate blood will receive a complimentary pair of tickets to the October race.

There will be 36 cars representing four classes on the grid for main race on Saturday. In addition to a new six-hour format – compared to four hours from 2004 to 2009 – the event date shifts from fall to spring: May 21-23.
