The prestigious Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, a cornerstone of Monterey Classic Car Week, returns on its traditional date on the third week of August. The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion on August 15-18 will feature 550 cars selected for their history and race provenance. The 50th anniversary of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) will be celebrated as featured marque throughout the four-day event with legendary cars and drivers from the series’ illustrious past, present and future.
The 2019 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is 269 days away, yet plans are already in high gear as the seven-person selection committee has been finalizing the 14 run groups. An anticipated 1,000 entry requests are expected to be received for the limited 550 grid positions that race August 15-18, 2019 at Monterey County’s legendary WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. And when the entries are in, that’s when the selection committee takes on the formidable task of evaluating each car for its documented race history, authentic livery and mechanical presentation to the day it raced.
The third day of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion produced the largest turnout thus far at the four-day event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Fans swarmed to see the action on-track during the first of two days of winners being decided as well as the unforgettable moments on the Paddock Stage presented by Audi.

Audi selected the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca to conduct the world debut of its stunning concept supercar-the Audi PB 18 e-tron.
The reveal was held before international journalists and participants competing in the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion over the four days. The concept was designed in the new Audi Design Loft in Malibu, California.
Audi racing legend Allan McNish drove the PB 18 onto the stage as guests and journalists pressed against the stage to catch the first look.

The four-day Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is officially under way with the first day of action complete. More than 550 historic cars with race provenance across 15 race groups took to the 11-turn, 2.238-mile road course.
Thursday action began with the eldest of the vintage machines getting first crack at the asphalt. Group 1A has race cars that go as far back as Charles Test’s 1911 National Speedway Roadster. Groundbreaking driver Lyn St. James wheeled a supercharged 1925 Bugatti 35C in the same group.
The 2018 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion celebrated the illustrious history of the Nissan and Datsun racing lineage. With more than 550 cars competing in 15 race groups there was nonstop action on the track.
Peter Brock, John Morton and Steve Millen – three legends that sparked Datsun and Nissan racing heritage in America – will share their experiences as guests at the annual Picnic in the Paddock on Saturday, August 25. Afterwards, Sir Jackie Stewart and Chris Cord will join the panel to remember racing legend Dan Gurney followed by a vocal tribute from Donald Osborne. The stage presentation is traditionally a fan favorite of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which will be held August 23-26 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Officials from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) today announced that IMSA will be the featured marque for the 2019 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion to be held at the world-renowned facility in Monterey, California on the weekend of Aug. 15-18, 2019.
The event will feature 50 years of IMSA history with a variety of race cars and personalities from throughout the series’ rich history, which includes several races on the famed, 2.238-mile WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca circuit.

Three iconic cars from Nissan’s and Datsun’s racing past are celebrated in the official poster art for the annual Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion held at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca August 23-26. The FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile), the world’s premier motorsport governing body, awarded world championship trophies at its annual gala and prize giving ceremony Dec. 8 at the Palace of Versailles. Among the trophy presentations was the FIA Founding Members’ Club Heritage Cup, which was bestowed to the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), which manages the County of Monterey-owned Laguna Seca Recreation Area, in recognition of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
For the fifth consecutive year, a panel of expert judges for the Octane Awards (formerly known as the International Historic Motoring Awards) has named the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion a finalist for the Motorsport Event of the Year. In 2015, the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP) was awarded the top honor for Porsche Rennsport Reunion V held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, which was also selected to host Porsche Rennsport Reunion VI in 2018.
The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion celebrated the track’s history with the Racing Through the Decades display, which featured 12 race machines that were instrumental in the track’s heritage. This included the Ferrari 500 Testa Rossa that Pete Lovely drove to win the inaugural race in 1957 and the last car to win (the 2016 KPAX Racing McLaren 650S from the Pirelli World Challenge).
