Drivers Nick Foster, Tim Slade and Miguel Molina combine to win 8-hour, 327-lap Intercontinental GT Challenge California 8 Hours

Track history was made during the 2019 premier event season kickoff to the 62nd year of racing at the iconic WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca road course. The Intercontinental GT Challenge California 8 Hours was the longest professional race in track history, both in duration – equaling the inaugural and second annual events – and in laps completed (327).

Eight Manufacturers Confirmed for Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli

Eight manufacturers are confirmed for Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli. The global GT3 series begins the schedule of five races on five continents in Australia at this weekend’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour and heads to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the California 8 Hours on March 29-30.

The recent confirmations of Ferrari and Honda following Nissan’s confirmation earlier in the week bring this year’s total number of full-season manufacturers to a record-breaking eight. They are joined on the roster by Audi, Bentley, BMW, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche.

The 2016 Pirelli World Challenge season finale last weekend provided sports car racing fans the opportunity to see some of the most exciting GT racing of the year at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Pirelli World Challenge race stewards have penalized initial GT winner Johnny O’Connell of Flowery Branch, Ga., for an on-track infraction on the final lap of Sunday’s Round 20 GT/GTA/GT Cup season finale in the Pirelli World Challenge Championships presented by Nissan at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
