Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli Takes 61-Car Entry to 2019 Season Opener at Sebring

The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli will open its 2019 campaign this weekend at the same circuit where it debuted in 1966, returning to the legendary Sebring International Raceway to kick off the year.

With over 60 cars fielded by a deep roster of talented drivers backed by strong teams, the 2019 Trans Am season is expected to see the series continue to move from strength to strength. Four classes — TA, TA2 powered by AEM, SuperGT and GT — will do battle in a pair of races on Sebring’s notoriously tough 3.74-mile circuit on Sunday.

Loshak, Matos Score Wins During Trans Am Season Opener

The 2019 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli kicked off a new season at Sebring International Raceway with victories being awarded during a double-header on Sunday. The first race featured was the TA2 powered by AEM category, and the second race included TA, SuperGT and GT on the same grid.

In TA, a late-race restart proved to be no problem for polesitter Lawrence Loshak, who drove to a flag-to-flag overall victory. Defending champion Ernie Francis Jr. pressured Loshak for the opening six laps before pitting with a transmission issue, costing him 12 laps.
